prevent people from developing into truly strong
and independent individuals.

In this era of rapid social and technological change, the luxuries and conveniences of contemporary life can have both positive and negative effects on the people's development.
To begin with,I concede that modern life easily lead people to a lazy and passive life.In china there are a number of people ,whose parents are millionair,enjoying luxurious life,thus they do not need to worry about the future.On this respect luxurity and convenience of contemporary life is harmful and prevent people become strong.
A tough life always inspires the people to think of ways to make it better by working hard, from which they become strong and independent. Take coummunists in the war time in china as an example,they have such solid blief of the vicotry in the realism of socialism despite of the mightness of the enemy.It is the spirit of fearless of death that thousands of member chose self-sacrifies in order to keep the secret of the party,this in turn inspires more of the next generation.Though they led the toughest life in the conditon of vast poverty in old China,their thought is profound enough to lead them to be strong to create the history and be indepent never to surrender to the enemy.
However,there are still many people who grow up with the luxuries and conveniences but pursuit their goal and make meaningful things to become stronger and more independent.For instance,a large number of sicentists sitting in the convinent laboratories works day after day can also produce the significant research result that facilitate the devlopment of the whole society. The reason for their success,as far as I'm concerned, is the strong averness of responsibility and curiousity that lead them to prusue the truth in sicence tirelessly.
On the other hand,a poor lacking enough opportunities for education,he or she would likely to be flatter and to obey the destiny.
Take both into conisderation,the luxuries and conveniences of life is a doubt-edge sword.In the real state,it is the spirit or thought that make people distinguish with the vast common people and make contribution to the whole society. |
