我的疑问：OG上解释说CD两项的them指代有歧义，指代tourists。C我理解是因为在主语的位置上，但D就不能理解了。感觉跟正确答案E一样啊。

c和d一样啊，them之前离them最近的复数名词就是tourists

加粗部分，raising the humidity within them直接修饰的是tourists，them只能指代了tourists.
(E) because moisture exhaled by tourists had raised the humidity within them to such levels that salt from the stone was crystallizing
加粗部分，had raised ...是moisture的谓语，the humidity within them为moisture的宾语；这部分结构为，because moisture ...had raised the humidity within them...这里的them只能是指代了moisture了。

them怎么可能指代moisture呢。。。单复数都不相符。。。

我也觉得them指的是chambers，但是为什么c，d中them都指代有歧义，e选项中就没有歧义了呢？？
