问题：选项D，prep中解释说it指代不清，我觉得it是指代----the event的。而有人说还可以是asteroid，但是这不合逻辑，一颗流星，怎么可以标志着一个时代的结束？最明显的是流星撞击地球这件事是一个时代结束的标志。

还有个问题就在于,如果E正确的话,那么, 就不是the event标志着白垩纪的结束.而是the plant and animal extinctions. 注意这里的mark没有加s哦,如果说that修饰the event,那么也要加s的.

看见E里那个the没有？ the是关键

D是 plant 和 animal extinctions并列，明显有歧义嘛

我觉得D,E的并列都没错 plant 和 animal 并列，与后面的extinctions构成名词词组。 E中可以理解为the plant and the animal 并列。

这道题我也觉得好奇怪怎么都难以理解mark是指代extinctions的帮顶

D中，it前的and标志着这个clause是和前半句平行的。而与逗号隔开的插入语不是一层。自然it不是指代插入语中的event了。我觉得到不是指代不清，而就是指代错误了。就像lz说的，的确不会是小行星marks而是event.
