请教: Campus Visit对录取有帮助吗?

听说可以给招生人员留下印象? 会对录取有帮助吗?
但是成本也太高了吧, 美国这么大, 要去campus visit,旅费要多少啊...
campus visit时候,可以把自己的综合情况和成绩给学校说说, 问问自己这种情况有戏没戏吗?

每年去CAMPUS VISIT的人有很多很多很多，一般来说招生人员不会来HOST VISIT，一般是由学生来带你听课，看看学院等。好处是你可以多了解学校。

还有个问题, 是结合我自己情况的, 之前几年工作经验还比较有分量, 但是因为结婚,今年初辞职来美国团聚, 现在是全职主妇, 这段职业"空档期"会不会是劣势或者需要特殊解释呢? 还是学校会觉得也很正常?

还有一问, 像我这种情况, 属于international student吧? 录取决策时候, 是跟中国学生一起考量的吧?

如果有绿卡就不算是INTERNATIONAL POOL了吧。职业空当期如果超过三个月要在OPTIONAL ESSAY里面解释。

Yes my friend, if it is at all possible you SHOULD try to coordinate a campus visit. Yes it will cost $1,000 USD or so, but compared to the $150K that you are going to spend, that isn’t a very large amount of course. J Also, how can you prove to a school that you KNOW that they are the best school for you, if you have never even visited? It is possible of course, but if you have ANY shot at visiting, you should do so. Adcoms will be impressed, and you will also experience cool things and meet cool people that you can reference in your applications as well…

Jon, is it possible at all to meet the adcom staff while visiting schools? AS sportmann said, most of the time the adcom staff will not host the visit. How can we impress the adcom by visiting school, except for integrating it into the essay? (I believe a lot of ppl will do so if this is a way to 'impress' the recruiter).
