Education is a perpetual topic in our times.In the last decade,higher education is more and more prevalent.One indisputable fact is that the quality of our living has continued to change considerably throughout modern country and this trend is expected to continue into the future.Nevertheless,when it comes to the topic of major courses students should take,people’s notions vary from one to another.Some people even asserted that it is more important for students to study history and literature than it is for them to study science and mathematics.I doubt whether this argument bears analysis.
It is genuinely imoprtant and imperative for students to study history and literature on account of the fact that history may make us learn experience from past events and apply them into real world and literature would have a great impact on the developments of students’ oral ability and writing skills.Learning from the past,we can get the truth that people’s power is so great that it can overturned a government.So as the politics leader nowadays,they must take meaures which are benefial for most people to matain their authorities.Students can also be good at speaking and writing by learning literature deeply and earnestly,which are two main charaters in becoming a journalist or commetor.
However,it is also extremely inevitable and undeniable for students to study science and mathematics for the simple reason that almost every aspect of our socirty need sophisticated knowledge about science and mathematics especially in the realm of finance and engineer.Without knowledge about science and mathematics,we cannot analysize stocks and trend of our country’s economy in the future and even cannot take actions immediately to cope with world’s economic crisis.Without knowledge about science and mathematics,we cannot mold the contruction of a building,not mention to build our society.
Judging from above evidence offered,I can hardly agree the perpective that it is more important for students to study history and literature than it is for them to study science and mathematics.To some extent,learning history and literature plays a important and imperative role on the development of students,but learning science and mathematics is also important and inevitable for a student’s well development.
