LZ以后应该扭转一下思维，看到过去完成时首先考虑，有什么理由让我去用过去完成时，因为过去完成时相比其他时态应该是错的最多的时态。本题中没有人时间状语表述了“从过去一段时间以来（到过去某时间点）”的意思，所以没有理由用过去完成时

大象和她是在同一个时间进行的比较因此应该用同样的时态都是过去式

b选项过去完成进行时貌似没见过这种时态把

then是在那时的意思不是之后容易误导你以为是had done的时间标志

理解了可是我记得之前上高中的时候老师说出现once基本都用完成时难道不是吗

GMAT语法差不多要摒弃高中的大部分语法知识了……once当副词有曾经的意思，不一定触发过去完成时
