IMO：the participial phrasethe selection E “carefully coordinated them with her narratives” should be used to modify “the book illustrations”
but the selection E doesn't show the relationship between them since it puts the “carefully coordinated them with her narratives” paralleled with "capitalized on her keen observation and love of the natural world"
the selection E put them together, the relationship will become not clear
