Hi there,

What does the following sentence mean?

"A harvest of the shoots would remove the toxic compounds off site to be burned or composted to recover the metal for industrial uses."

It's from TPO 5 Reading_Minerals and Plants.

Appreciate it if anyone could help with the interpretation.
