求分析句子结构

这个句子可以看成both ……belong to……，redeer have develpoded，while caribou tend ……。而but是作为修饰成分可以省略不看。
那么这个句子不就缺少连词了吗？可以这么理解吗？

这道题目的答案是A，但是我想问一下为什么and前面没有逗号啊？因为我觉得and连接的是两个完整的句子，谢谢大家。

1:but就是这个句子的连词，你为啥说不看就不看了呀。再说，你把but当作修饰成分那你就要说明做什么修饰成分，并且有什么语言现象证明这里可以把but当作就是成分呀。。。
句子不能想怎么看就怎么看，给你举个例子：
I like you。可以说like是，介词所以这句话没有谓语……这么说确实没错，like确实可以做介词，所以这句话确实就没有动词了。所以，like在这里就不能做介词了。。。

2:逗号的目的是要将句子分区，如果and前加逗号，那么句子的结构就混乱了，而且要在“,and ”之后复写“even though ”，否则就改变句义了

不是说连词连接2个句子只有2种形式：SVO，conj+SVO或者SVO；SVO。
这2题让我晕乎的就是，都没有符合这个规定啊。

第一题，but 后面有个时间状语，但是后面紧接着一个逗号，然后是一个svo。
为什么不把逗号去掉呢？直接就是but+svo
不去掉不是容易造成“but after 7,000 years of domestication in Eurasia”是一个修饰成分吗？

第二题“and前加逗号句子就混乱了”。不是很懂啊，可不可以详解一下？
