A选项是 Based on accounts of various ancient writers,
Based on 的主语是 scholars，但不理解为什么答案说scholars based on accounts of 说不通呢？我觉得译成学者根据以前的作者的报告...很顺啊。。。

这里考的就是逻辑主语的问题，based on 因该是sth. based on 。你不能说是学者based on various ancient writers

"我觉得译成学者根据以前的作者的报告...很顺啊。。。" ——很多SC的题目不能去翻译成中文，后来理解。中文讲究的是意合，而英文是形合。中文一翻译很多题干中的问题就发现不出来了。

过去分词表被动，现在分词表主动，scholars based on 被动语意解释不通，basing的用法不正确，所以选择E using accounts of various ancient writers
