而C选项中说 . An active verb makes thefirst clause more concise;
为什么 A 以名称做主语就不对呢？

我的理解：首先我感觉他不是最简洁的，其次，radio was a substitute for the telephone , not the conception

我觉得以Marconi'sconception of the radio 做主语，后面又+ is, 这样接下去就应该是that ......
结果出现了，这样的结果，读起来很不舒服。
