大全973，treat的用法

(B) travelers often treat customs inspectors as wanton poachers instead of government employees

(E) customs inspectors are often treated not like government employees but wanton poachers by travelers
当初选了E，觉得they指代有问题，D选项中的they怎么解释呢？ E选项是不是错在but那个地方，因为和not like不平行，如果要E正确的话是不是应该弄成 but like。。。。？

我觉得这里的they指代就是逻辑主语customs inspectors，我记得以前看过一个帖子，大部分句子里代词指代的都是逻辑主语，而非我们经常以为的就近指代（不肯定，只是我看过的）

我觉得E的话，应该改成
customs inspectors are often treated by travelers not like government employees but like wanton poachers
这样可能好一点

我觉得这里的they指代就是逻辑主语customs inspectors，我记得以前看过一个帖子，大部分句子里代词指代的都是逻辑主语，而非我们经常以为的就近指代（不肯定，只是我看过的）

我觉得E的话，应该改成
customs inspectors are often treated by travelers not like government employees but like wanton poachers
这样可能好一点

by travelers 一定要靠近谓语吗？我对状语要不要靠近谓语一直很疑惑。GMAT语法老有状语不靠近谓语的情况，好像是宾语优先靠近谓语吧？可是如果宾语靠近谓语的话，状语会不会有修饰宾语的情况呢？
