用名词表示动词的时候，动词本身有名词形式（removal）就用名词形式，比用动名词（removing）好

because of 接了一个名词，表示原因是这个东西；但是作者想表达的意思是某个东西如何如何了这个过程或者事件是原因
所以用D

楼主，这两个问题还挺基础的，建议先做做prep

D removing 和 the clearing 不平行前面是动词ing形式后面是名词除非改成 the removal 和 the clearing或者 removing 和 clearing（这时候clearing是动词ing，不是名词）
