我选了D，但是答案这样解释：the appositive phrese a work... incorrectly refers to the lliad, not Pope's translation. 我不太明白，是因为began后跟了名词短语，appositive a work 就指整个短语了吗？而如果后面跟的是主谓宾句子，就指它紧跟的那个名词？同位语的修饰法是这样吗？谢谢

同位语应当指代其前方的名词。本文愿意是要 a work修饰【illad的翻译本】，如ABC所述，translation of the Illiad，而DE，把translation这个名词换做了translating这个动词， a work就自动修饰Illiad了。不符合愿意
