选的是B，这里so that不行吗？我觉得句意也通顺啊，我就忠于A选项选了B。求解释。谢谢

so that你这么你说我查了字典，so that有以致，结果是的意思，放在这里没有问题啊。
公司现在的问题是。。。的结果，以致很多尝试失败；结果导致失败。

怎么说呢。。中文解释很容易误导的。。我觉得还是有问题的，查了下国外论坛，找到一个比较靠谱的说法，一起学习一下。
NOTE: In A, B, and C, the phrases "so that" and "in that" would modify some kind of action, as in "He went to the store so that he could find Amy" or "It was a bad move in that it resulted in him getting dumped by Amy." We don't have an action we want to modify here (i.e., the only verb we have in the first half of the sentence is "are", and we're probably not modifying that).

至于attempt, 我的确在og的rc中看到过attempt(noun.) at doing的选项，但是在sc的正确句子中并没有找到, 我是不敢说绝对attempt(noun) at doing在GMAT中就怎么怎么样了。。但我自己觉得是略awkward的，毕竟是noun，没有attempt（verb）+to do来的更清晰明了.

With the verb "attempt", you need the infinitive:

He attempted to escape through a window.  RIGHT
He attempted at escaping through a window.  WRONG

You can use "at +ING" after the noun:

His attempt to escape through a window failed. RIGHT
His attempt at escaping through a window failed.    RIGHT

句意上怎么可能通呢，现有错误是由..., ..., ..., 所致的，目的在于一些修正的尝试都失败了吗？
目的不可能是使attempt fail

btw，抛开so that 语义有问题不说，lz你选B的话，是否还遗漏了attempt这个点

so that你这么你说我查了字典，so that有以致，结果是的意思，放在这里没有问题啊。
公司现在的问题是。。。的结果，以致很多尝试失败；结果导致失败。

另外attempt at也是有这个搭配的，试图，企图的意思。还是说GMAT不接受attempt at觉得他akward呢？

这个题目其实也是OG分册的84题。

偶然看到了，咱们讨论一下，看看能不能弄明白。

首先，B和D两个选项都没有语法问题，甚至没有“语意”的问题(其实如果仅仅把意思读个大概，so that在感觉上是明显优于that)。问题就出在这个“大概”上。我们知道，在DE两个选项中，划线部分是一个定语从句。其先行词(也就是technological stagnation, marketing missteps, and managerial blunders)在这个定语从句中充当correct的宾语。如果补全，就是：“several attempts to revise corporate strategies have failed to correct technological stagnation, marketing missteps, and managerial blunders”。而在ABC这个三个选项的句法下，由于so that（或者in that）是连词，其后的句子并不是定语从句，所以B中的correct没有宾语，即划线部分为主谓结构。（这里不会是省略，因为如果省略，则读者并不知道省略了什么。)

好了，语法部分讨论完了。我们已经发现了BD两者明显的区别，也就是B中，划线句没有宾语，而D中，划线句是有宾语的。我们知道，在英语中，动词是最重要的一类词，而我们想知道动词所表达的含义的时候，并不能仅仅依靠动词本身的意思（几乎每一个动词都是多义的）。那我们要靠什么呢？显然是要靠动词所在的句子中的主语和宾语来判断这个动词在当前语境下的意义。比如，“eat”这个词是“吃”的意思，其包含的范畴非常广泛，许多生物甚至非生物都是发出“eat”这个动作。所以为了表达清楚，我们用“I eat a cake”，这个时候我们就知道了，啊，原来是要表达“我吃蛋糕”这个意思。也就是说，主语和宾语可以令谓语动词“具体化”。如果要是主宾少了其中任何一个，整个句子的所指范围势必比主宾齐全时要大许多。比如将“I eat a cake”去掉宾语转化为“I eat”，则显然后者就可以表示了我吃任何的东西，而不仅仅是蛋糕。

回来看咱们这两个选项。如果不指明correct的宾语“technological stagnation, marketing missteps, and managerial blunders”，即B，则所指范围要远大于D。那么我们观察一下“未划线”句子，它说的是“present troubles”，如果我们不给划线部分的have failed to correct进一步指定范围为“technological stagnation, marketing missteps, and managerial blunders”，则前后两句话无法建立起任何联系。（这里我举一个仿照原文写法可能略有夸张的例子，比如 “小明遭受困难的原因是由于他身高不足，体重太大，如此以至于许多有效的办法都不能治愈癌症”，黑体字的部分，我随机填入了一个宾语，这里和不限定宾语是一个道理，不限定的意思不就是什么宾语都可以么。显然能看出，在该例子中由“如此以至于”连接的两者压根没什么关系，所以这个句子肯定也就是不合逻辑的了。）

所以，我们知道，如果想使得两个句子之间有解释说明，或者so that的关系，则必须令划线部分的句子的范围进一步缩小，所以答案为D。这种考察的方式是GMAT很常见的方式，是GMAT所要考察的推理能力。至于attempts at 和 attempt to，就算有区别，也并不是GMAT所想考察的点。so that 和that的区别也是同样，虽然有意思上的区别，但是在这个题目中，两者都可以。
