答案是A 可我选了C 这里C的removing of不是与后面的cleaning of相对应嘛而且直接用result from不是更简洁吗

I would not choose C based on the following considerations:

1. "the removal of" is apparently better than "the removing of"

2. even though we keep "the removing of" here, there is no need to place a "," between the years and resulting. (if it is "which results from", than the "," could remain there)
