B. The majority of students entering law school this fall are expected to be women, a trend that will ultimately place

E. It is expected for the women to be the majority of students entering law school this fall, which will ultimately placing

这道题正确答案选B。
我知道这道题肯定是用a trend来代替指代前面一个句子，所以排除C、E。但是A、D就不知道为什么不选了，或者错在哪里。
请各位牛牛们帮忙解答！谢谢！

(A)同位语 a trend 的分词后置定语 placing，不能表现出即将发生的趋势，而是表达了一直发生的含义。

A需要改，因为trend的含义。trend需要保留的，前面一句话就是trend的内容，所以it is expected...不合适。
