这题答案D, 我没意见, 其它选项都错误明显, 但是大家看看D, believed that 后面是一个完整的复合句, 那么by doing的主语应该是句子的主语, 可是这个复合句的主语是the productivity, 偶当时就是看了一下修饰错误就直接排除了DE, 然后老子花了6分钟也没选出来, GMAC真是太流氓了, 哪位弟兄见过同样的情况???

这里by doing就是通过某种方式，是动词的补足，如果是by doing提前做状语，加个逗号的话，就要考虑逻辑主语问题了。其实这题主要是想考平行，BTW，你什么时候见GMAC没耍流氓来着

句子主语companies是可以做by preventing的逻辑主语的.

但是上面出现的情况是, 句子主语根本做不了by doing的逻辑主语, 你说可以单纯来表示通过某种方式, 我是觉得你说的这种情况我没有见过

你说的那道题是用的被动，improved一定隐含有一个施动作者，即后面的逻辑主语

其实不必要那么看重语法了拉，根据排除法做题吧，把握gmac的出题思路才是关键，主要想考的是平行哈，这种by doing一定还有其他例子的只是出现得不多而已

好不容易从google上给你弄了一句，是学术期刊上的，应该不会错拉
