答案是b。我选的是e，如果把e里面的have appeared换成appeared，是不是能够正确呢？

我同意E.
1.B里面最基本的错误是five hundred前面没有加the，
2.have vanished跟主语99 percent太远。
3.appeared用have appeared更加合适，说明了一种物种不断产生，不断消亡的情况。

啊！这道题我也不会！版主大人，为什么要加the呢？是因为后面的that从句还是of？如果是因为that从句，为什么不是在creatures前面加the？谢谢！！！

the是指特定的一个范围里面。这里特指500，不是说只有500个物种，是其中的500个物种。

five hundred million different species of living creatures是一个整体，所以要加the是加在前面...
这里的the不是特指，其实也是一种泛指。泛指有时候为了划归具某种特性的事物，前面是要用the的。这里这些事物的特性就是that have appeared on Earth.
