答案是C

问：as early as和谁比较？我记得一瞧说过要是说一个东西有多高不能用as high as，只能说是就是多高。否则就成了两者相比较了。那这里是怎么回事？

前面有省略in. "早在18世纪就已经是很成熟的方法了"。in, at, on常省略的.

还是不太明白。。加上in 了是和谁比较？？。。

as early as其实只是强调“早”，而不是那种句子结构上的比较，记住这个表达，用于修饰时间状语。
