The best teacher is the one who expect the students to challenge the popular ideas rather than accept them.

Fist or all, challenge popular ideas may stimulate independent thinking on those issues. Therefore, a student may grasp a better understanding.

In addition, challenge popular ideas may help to refute false theory and promote the development of science.

However, challenge popular ideas does not mean to refute all correct existing ideas. If the popular ideas have been verified, it makes sense to accept them.
