用法。如果A多加一个those, (A) Americans were killed as those, 是否更

好一些呢？什么情况应该补全啊？

"those" is superfluous, wordy and thus redundant here, "as" can act as a pronoun in this case. Remember this usage.

那么C中的those who为什么wordy? than也可以做代词? 那么许多than that/those 怎么解释?

当as......as同级比较时, 同主语不同谓语的情况, 多半省略主语......

像这边的four times as many Americans were killed as (Americans) would later be killed

但若是比较宾语时, 则需补出主语:

ex: David has half as many records now as I had last year. (这里则省宾语)

"David has half as many records now as I had last year. (这里则省宾语)"

两个主语(DAVID和I)都不同,当然要清晰表达出来,所以不是"补出主语"的问题.

187题中可以省去"THOSE"或"AMERCIANS",我觉得与其句子结构有关,这是个被动句,没有宾语,所以省去的后面的主语并不会引起歧义(因为只能是AMERCIANS这个选择)

or it represents a different "independent instituations" , so it is not superfluous?

因为than之前是完整的主谓宾结构，如果省略those就不知道是比较主语还是宾语了，有歧义，所以这里的those不能省。而OG187，大家已经说的很清楚了，只有主语和谓语，省略不会有歧义。之前有个比较的“疱丁解牛”的帖子，总结得很不错，可以去看看！
