写darden essay的时候, 有两个问题很困惑,
1. darden只有两篇essay, 都没问及career goal方面的话题, 那要不要加入对career goal的内容呢, 如何加比较好呢.
2. essay 1: The Darden MBA program expects students to actively participate in learning teams, the classroom, and the broader community. Please share one or two examples from your past experience that best illustrate(s) how you will contribute to this highly engaging and hands-on learning environment.
大家对这个"highly engaging and hands-on "怎么理解, 是否需要在例子中都强调自身的"engaging and hands-on "的意愿和能力吗? 还是像一般的contribution的essay,以自身经历举例, 来说明对这样的环境中可以做出什么贡献, 不用一定强调"engaging and hands-on ".

望解惑, 如果大家有其他的问题,也可以一起讨论下哦

个人认为，goal的essay可写可不写吧。没有强求，但如果能够跟他的题目结合并指出来，总不会是坏事。关键是要自然。如果essay的题目已经回答得很好了，很勉强的把自己的goal塞在里面，那就画蛇添足了。

我的理解是，往年goal和why school两个都是重点essay，但这种essay因为太泛，有些学校开始谨慎采用了。比如Wharton，这是essay派的典型学校，今年居然删除了why Wharton的题目，估计也是觉得，每个人都写得太“有诚意”，又太虚假，还不如不看。
goal也是一样，MBA学生有多少会按照这个goal来努力的呢？可能20%都没有。与其让大家认认真真说假话，不如放下面具不说话。

Darden 学校最明显的风格之一就是学生都有很强的动手能力，要会踏踏实实的做事情。所以这两点必须很好的在Esssay里面体现，不然就是不fit了。

我觉得engaging 比较好体现, 但是hands-on 怎么表达呢? 是不是个人的亲身经历,做的事情都可以体现呢

我们学校想看到的是leadership in world's practical affairs，尽量找脚踏实地实事求是的例子吧

Hello there! It would be my pleasure to help you with this question. Yes, it is critical that you DO address your career goals someplace in your Darden essays. It doesn’t have to be in this essay necessarily, but you are correct—it is critical that you address the issue in the applications.
When the adcom asks for highly engaging and hands on, they want to be sure that you can “roll up your sleeves and get the job done.” So they aren’t asking for a time when you outsourced, or delegated—they want a time when you really did the WORK! Not just strategy, but execution. If you can come up with an example of this sort—where you really did the work yourself, and dug deep to get the job done—that is the example to include here.
