根据动词后面的名词的单复数来定.

A选项中关于turned out to describe的时态问题。

这个work是early 1970s时候的事情，但是一直以来work都在describe一个事情。对于这种“事情发生在过去，其影响一直发生到现在”的时态怎样使用？一直搞不清楚，求助！！

我對這題的時態也有疑惑..

雖然這個work是在1970年作的

但是他所describe的是什麼東西卻是事實

不會改變的吧....

可能是 turn out to describe , 这个动作主要是turn out ，发生在过去。

如果谓语动词是describe, 我想应该用describes

"事情发生在过去，其影响一直发生到现在"适用于现在完成时。现在完成时用于表示说话之前已发生的动作但对现在仍有影响，或是由过去某点延续至说话时的动作，完成时有一些标志性的时间状语，如：already, yet, just, ever, since, for，so far, up to now, in the past years等。

这道题所提供的选项不涉及现在完成时的问题。

有道理。

我在A与B两个选项中绕了好久：

(A) what are called aperiodic tiles, turned out to describe
(B) what is called aperiodic tiles, describes
--动词时态用DESCRIBES和TURNED OUT TO BE都可以。但是B选项aperiodic tileS，谓语动词应当用ARE。因此选A。

关键是original A 用的是过去时，这个不好说，如果改变事态的话，显然会被安上shift tense之罪名，不爽ing

可是这里主语是work，主谓一致就应该用“is”才对，"tiles"是宾语，不存在一致吧？？？
