Researchers agreed that the study of new treatments for heart attack patients was extremely important but more research was needed to determine that balloon angioplasty preceded with ultrasound was or was not any better for heart attack patients than the balloon procedure by itself.

想不通为什么more research前面要加that? 如果这也是researchers同意的内容，应该加and.如果是跟researchers不相关的从句，不加that我觉得也说得通，希望高手指点迷津

that做agree的宾语从句吧~~~
跟agree that the study of ....平行
researchers agreed that.....but that,....

我想过这个用法，那为什么要用BUT 连接呢？如果后面一个也是researchers 同意的对象什么很重要并且更多的调查要用来确定什A是不是比B更有效很通顺啊？如果BUT 表示转折，我觉得同意的对象应该是一个整体，就是说去掉researchers同意，剩下的句子是一个完整的：什么更重要，但是更多的调查要用来确定A是不是B比更有效。

首先but在作用上并列，在逻辑上转折
所以but作为并列连词应该没有争议
那么就得从逻辑上去理解了
研究人员同意这个治疗方法很重要但是需要更多的研究
我是这么理解的
研究人员作为一个整体，agree是对研究人员而言的，就是说研究人员们都同意，他们的观点一致的
研究人员同意的内容却是部分同意，同意治疗方法很重要，但还需要更多研究

举个例子
可能有人提议去公园春游

全班同学同意去春游但是认为不应去公园

这题可能有人认为treament很重要，所以就不需要更多research了
但researchers部分同意treament很重要但还要更多research
