It should not surprise you that articles on the NYtimes contain a lot of grammatical errors. Look at the first paragraph of an article that appears on the NYtimes today: " resident Obama said his top commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, had used “poor judgment” and Pentagon officials said the general had prepared a letter of resignation, as he flew to Washington on Tuesday to find out whether he would be fired after a magazine article quoted him and his staff disparaging top members of the Obama administration." The paragraph contains at least two type of errors: run-on sentence, and ambiguous pronoun. Here is the link to the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/23/world/asia/23mcchrystal.html?nl=us&emc=politicsemailema1 -- by 会员 silent7706 (2010/6/23 7:33:59)
Thank you for your information. Since I just started to read NYTimes, I thought such serious newpapers should not have made any obvious grammatical errors. Well, I guess I should get used to it. |
