选D，prep解释说unlike后面只能跟名词，
我想问一下这个C选项unlike 后面的cooking是动名词吧？
“cooking with spices” 这个东西算动词还是名词短语？

You are right that "cooking with spices" is paralleled to "taking spices (for medicinal use)."

The problem with C)is that you CANNOT say "taking spices for medicinal use is done in large quantities"; this sentence is nonsensical. It is "spices" that are "taken in large quantities," not "taking spices for medicinal use" that is "done in large quantities."

谢谢lS2位~我看prep的解释说的是ABC错因为unlike后面只能跟名词，所以我想问ABC后面doing形式的短语不算名词吗？
