现在分词修饰的问题

答案里说 A 选项resulting from...illogically modifies later generations. comma+现在分词不是adverbial modifier嘛，不是应该修饰的是后面整个句子嘛
求大神解答

我和LZ疑问一样，我也觉得resulting from...是作伴随状语修饰整个句子的。。。

而OG的解释却是说resulting from做的是定语，修饰的是later generations

求大牛解答~~

如果是comma ving 做ADV modifier 的话这里就是表示结果的，而result from 本身表示起因于，从语义上就是不能用 resulting from 来表示结果的。一般表示结果要么用 resulting in 要么就用 as a result of

好像理解你的意思，就是说用Comma -ing的话句子会变成Later generation．．．造成了destruction。
但是我看Manhattan上面有讲　说用participle 做adv修饰时，前后顺序也表示了因果顺序，前面的信息导致了后面的内容。
这里resulting在主句之前，就是也有resulting。。。导致了later generation...的意思吧，不知道这样想对不对

不是的

result from 本身的意思是起因于，一般是表原因。一个表原因的短语用了comma Ving 的表达方法来表示结果，这种用法本身就是不符合逻辑的。所以在G中 resulting from 都是属于逻辑自相矛盾的用法。

请问D选项里the largest of the ancient world有没有指代Alexandria的歧义？我是因为这个原因排除D的。
