可是我觉得Ｅ更好呢。
１）通过as early as 18th century/ until 25 years ago前后对比，判断前者改用完成时。
２）另想请教“, + -ed/-ing/adj/介词短语”的结构，这种结构是就近修饰前面的名词呢，还是修饰前面的词组的核心词？　如A of B,是修饰Ａ呢还是修饰Ｂ？

1）E选项中的过去完成时用得不对，因为已经出现了具体的时间as early as 18 century，所以要用一般过去式。
2）A of B结构中，A是核心。仅在一种情况下是特例：one of sth 结构中，是就近修饰。但请楼主注意，在the one of sth 结构中，依然是修饰 the one。
