答案D,误选B.

试图将两个句子还原：

B还原：the total amount of pollutant emitted annually by vehicles at O’Hare International Airport is twice as much annually as( the total amount of pollutant) is emitted by the motor vehicles in the Chicago metropolitan area
D还原：the total amount of pollutant emitted annually by vehicles at O’Hare International Airport is twice that (the total amount of pollutant) emitted annually by all motor vehicles in the Chicago metropolitan area

弱弱的问一下。关于比较对象不对的有点疑惑，在我看来，两个都是省略了the total amount of pollutant，比较对象为什么不对等了。

前人的帖子里面说as much annually as，这个我很赞同。只是关于比较对象还是不清楚，求NN指教。多谢。

比较对象是the total amount of pollutant by vehicles at o'hare international airport和the total amount of pollutant by motor vehicles in the Chicago metropolitan area,也就是说比较的是一个单数的数量,
D选项中emitted前面跟的肯定是pollutant 而不可能是the amount,所以比较对象不对等了

B的说法是不对等的，
对等的说法应该如下(简化版)：the amount of pollutant emitted by vehicles at OIA 对 the amount of pollutant emitted by vehicle in CM area.
所以b是不对等的，应该选D

再弱弱的问一句，选D，和其中的all有没有关系呢，原句有all，强调了是全部的motor vehicles，而B把极端词去掉了。

B里面的is是不是多出来的，

就像这道题：

a里的are留着去掉应该都是可以的
问题在于比较和be likely to do
