feelings (like commitment, love, passion, etc.) are thought of in terms of more(greater) or less, as unquantified substances.
we cannot use Smaller for commitment because commitment is neither a physical size, not number or quantity.

smaller 和 fewer 都修饰可数名字

但是， smaller 一般是指 ”小“，而fewer是指”少“

注意这里是less of~ 修饰have 即承担a commitment的份额少了
a commitment应该不会变smalller吧
