A.   and their families have a history of high blood pressure

B.   whose families have a history of high blood pressure

C.   and a history of high blood pressure runs in the family

D.   whose families have a history of high blood pressure running in them

E.   with a history of high blood pressure running in their family
whose不是直接跟在前面的先行词后面做宽展意义吗？
这里为什么就可以这么用？？？

没这么严重吧。在GMAT里通常是跳过介词短语修饰的，那么这样的话whose就是紧跟young people，跟lz所学的并没有根本性的冲突。

哎，看来是总结的不够到位了，
有些一知半解的时候是最危险的

英语里面根本没有which等此必须紧跟在要修饰词后面修饰的硬性规定，你可以放到句子的任何地方修饰，但是这样的问题是导致指代不清。那么，在句子除了which的位置意外，没有任何区别的时候，这个道理是可以用来判断的。如果句子还有其他更加严重的问题，那么就不该拘泥于这个细节。
这题，A肯定不对，这个and语义不并列，
C一样，and全部枪毙掉。
D，有点干扰，但是问题很严重。running in them，这个them是谁？如果是指family，那么就是啰嗦，如果是指young people的话，那么young people的血压和他家族的血压是一回事情吗？显然不是，那么怎么可以是一个发起者呢？
E，么，这么多with，人家烦不烦啊？
所以选B

不要拘泥于whose的位置，其他选项里的问题更加大
