请问D为什么不对，that are as varied as就是做定语从句修饰countries啊？

A. which需要有具体的指代对象，不能用于修饰前句整句描述的事情；causing现在分词表示动作正在进行或还在延续，含义不正确。
B. which需要有具体的指代对象，不能用于修饰前句整句描述的事情；marking前面需要有逗号
C. and causing没有平行对象
D. and it marks….完整独立句子，构成run-on错误；it指代不清，可以指代an asteroid，也可以指代an event，且 it 优先指代同在句子中充当主语成分的 an asteroid，不符合逻辑。
E. 正确。

请问D中，什么是run on错误呢？

网上找到这个：

A sentence in which two or more independent clauses are not properly joined by a semicolon or conjunction. Also called run-on sentence.
一句句子裏面有两个或两个以上的独立的从句没有适当地加入了一个分号或者连接词。

但是上面第二题的D中有个连词and在it marks的前面啊

不是RUN-ON的问题
GOOGLE出来外国人的解释是 D和E没有语法上的错误所以我们应该将两者再做别的方面的比较也就是意思差别的比较了
D and E both correctly start with "an event that caused" - yes, that's both the original intent of the sentence and it's grammatically correct.
D introduces another "and" towards the end, which again dictates parallelism (which is not present here) and again mars the original intent of the sentence - one event led to the next, rather than two events being side-by-side parallel
E correctly indicates that the event caused the extinctions and those extinctions mark the end of the era

as varied as 在这里不是比较是举例诸如此类的意思可以看做SUCH AS 你自己再看看是不是应该这样理解 countries such as China, the Netherlands, and Hungary

关于D的解释没看得太懂，好像是说, and it marks又引出一个平行概念，但是文中并没有这一层意思，是多余的。

请N人解释一下run on错误吧！！！

run-on是一种结构错误。就是两个句子本身没有什么关联却被硬凑一起了，而且没有用合适的连接词连接。

这句里，有两套完整的主谓语，用and连接，但是，一个是现在时一个是过去时，并没有合适的连接词表示两者之间的关系，所以构成了run-on错误。

我说说第一题这个比较的是国家里的环境和自然资源而不是比较国家与国家所以THAT做定语的答案就错了
