答案e为什么the number 做主语,用are 啊?

这个are应该是跟在Blacks后面的吧.

E选项over the past decade和in the last ten years重复, 且the number of...谓语用单数

应该是C

我觉得：

over the past decade重复，而且，原文意思是说，在过去的十年中，大学生数量增长了一倍还要多。这里，最后有一个at that time，在那个时间，意思上是应该指 十年前 的那个时间点，但这里并没有时间点。而且，后面太罗嗦。

比D好得多，中心词 the number of 。。are ，错，后面 than。。what they are，这里应该是 number 和number比，而they 只能指代 blacks，所以错。
