LZM GMAT 语法改错精解

E4-18: One of every two businesses (fail) within two years.
A. fail
B. fails
C.should fail
D.may have failed
E. has failed

答案B。为何不是E？若将within two years 改为 in two years，答案可以是E吗？若改为 in the last two years 呢？我还是不太明白within 和 in 对时态影响的区别。

E4-17：Many writers of modern English have acquired careless habits that damage the clarity of their prose, but (these habits can be broken) if they are willing to take the necessary trouble.

A. but these habits can be broken
B. but these habits are breakable
C. but they can break their habits
D. which can be broken
E. except that can be broken

答案C。为什么A，B 不对？

LZM的解释正确。here, no difference between in and within.

用主动优先、动词优先这两个原则吧。

我认为：in the last two years，应该用完成时态。例：补充材料472。

1. 客观真理, 表示一般来讲, 每两家公司会有一家在两年内关门. 如果改为in the last two years, 意思改变, 应该用完成时.

2. A,B中these habbits和后面的they分别指不同的事物, 这在GMAT中是不可以的. they在语法上指代these habbits,逻辑上错误. 还有主动优先于被动.

您是说改为in the last two years就不是客观真理，而是一个简单的陈述了。那意思改编成什么样子了呢？是不是：“过去两年中，每两家公司有一家关门。”

in the last two years 在这个题目中必须使用一般过去时态。现在完成时，必须对现在有一定的影响，in the last two years做状语的时候，的确有用完成时态的时候，但是那种时候是上下文的原因使得动作对现在的情况产生了影响。
