1. atmospheric carbon dioxide 与 carbon dioxide in the atmosphere 没有太大区别。

2. increased 强调‘已经增加了的’；increasing 强调‘正在增加的’。

3. the combustion 强调‘燃烧的结果’；burning 强调‘燃烧的过程’。原文中当然是燃烧的结果造成CO2的增加。

现在我们来分析答案：

A 不满足3；且as a result of 不及 result from 简洁；

B 正确；

C resulting from 就近修饰atmosphere，修饰对象错误

D 同C

其实，atmospheric 和 in the atmosphere 在意思上没有什么大区别，只不过increased atmospheric carbon dioxide强调了atmospheric 与 carbon dioxide 的关系，表明两者是密不可分的，或许就是一个专用名词；而(increased) carbon dioxide in the atmosphere强调了从属关系，表明这个CO2是in the atmosphere的，而不是in somewhere else的；或许你会将这个问题和A's B 与 B of A 结构联系起来，但是，形容词结构和属性结构是有区别的；

对于类似的问题，我的个人观点是在做题时，由于A的缘故，你何不将atmospheric carbon dioxide 看成是一个专用的名词呢，除非在含有此表达的选项中有致命错误，否则，何苦去改动这个微不足道的偏差呢？
