1,为什么要用 extending ,

2, in length 和 long 的区别.

我觉得在谈论的是哥伦布时代早的那条路, 不太可能还存在于现在, 所以我认为用现在分词修饰有问题...

我记得OG11上那题, 关于在美国一个森林里发现迄今为止最大的生物是一个真菌群体,有10000年历史,并且,很大,

那题前面用的过去分词,说的是个过去状态,后面用的 extending, 因为现在还在 张大,.....

但因中间修饰部份太长造成S.V离太远才改写

在补充一下那个同位语从句做修饰语。。一般的特点是n,n1+ved/ving/that/介词短语

n1是用来解释N的。。

eg： A famous author in England ,Emily was a nice women ..

类似这种形式吧。。

  但是E选项中，两个句子The greatest road system built in the Americas prior to the arrival of Christopher    和    the Incan highway was over 2,500 miles long中间没有连词连接也可以吗？
