我选的是A,答案是E.我觉得很费解，因为rather than应该是一个平行结构的标志，两边应该有一致的结构，但是OG上给出的解释是be confined to前面的to给understood掉了，什么情况下才能understood啊？而且E中的后半句与前半句的主语也不一致，我觉得答案很有问题。这个问题困扰我几个星期了，哪位高人可以给解释一下？非常非常感谢

我的理解应该是把to省略了，因为be confined to的主语应该是members of the jury，况且A中instead of后也不能加to吧。像这种题好像答案一般都是在rather than的的选项中找。

哦，一语点醒梦中人啊，我受A的影响，一直以为instead of后面跟的也应该是motion的修饰语呢，原来是members of the jury的，非常感谢
