【求助】白勇语法第五章18题

Once the economic and social usefulness of the motor car was demonstrated and with its superiority to the horse being proved, much of the early hostility to it in rural regions disappeared.

答案是 B
我的疑问在B和C项.
B中 had been 和 was demonstrated 时态上不平行啊！
白勇对C 的解释是：and 连接的once从句和名词短语its superiority 形式不对称！
我觉得这里应该是省略了be动词啊，即 was demonstrated... and its ...(was) proved...
这样看来正确答案应该是C啊！

不懂咯... 请楼下解答~~~

我觉得c的主要缺陷在于superiority和proved之间was不能省略是因为它压根不能代表谓语，只能算被动语态的连接词，这个是不能省略的。
假设如果没有was，同样我们把proved也可以当作动词啊，那到底是主动还是被动呢？会混淆。
另外，was和had been时态没有不平行，我说不出来原因，但看看阅读和平时的文章很多这么用的。

was和had been时态没有不平行可能因为先要证明和马比的优越性，再证明其他的。强调了逻辑上的先后关系

be动词不能省略，因为根据逻辑意思and在这里连接的是两个完整的clause
