答案是A，

但我认为应当是C，本题是明显的平行并列，选择C，“many historians were in doubt as to the existence of Troy”与“scholars were uncertain as to the location of Troy”完美对称

不知是否有in doubt as to的说法。
好像只有have doubt as to。
而且动词是永远好于名词词性的。而且OG里说as to的说法已经过时。

从原句的意思来说，troy是否曾经存在过。那么可能的意思是现在已经不存在了。
C的意思仅是troy的存在，那么也表示troy现在仍然存在的。
另外，A这里doubt是有动词形态，动词优于名词。

我知道as to已经过时了，但是原句用了“as to the location of Troy”

be in doubt的说法是有的，意思是“怀疑”
