首先想问一下这句话的翻译，尤其是it was fashionable to be an expatriate，再就是上面的解释说first clause的主语应该和second clause的she来配合，我的问题是为什么Adverb clause的主语it不和它所修饰的first clause一致呢？我认为A选项也可以啊，并没有歧义。我觉得如果选D，那么second clause中的she完全可以省略，主语都是JB嘛。一点拙见，请高人指教。

it是形式主语，long before引导的句子意思是to be an expatriate还没有那么流行的时候,这句话放在句首比较好

A和B都有累赘的问题，其实可以直接说Paris was JB's home；而且前一句和后一句主语一致表达意思比较清晰，句式上也比较工整

至于D里第二个clause的主语为什么不省略，我个人是觉得省略she，这道题的答案就太明显了呀~~~嘿嘿 个人之见哈

谢谢veraon的再次解释，不过关于为什么不省略，我觉得OG在这一点上十分任性！即使是为了迷惑我们也不应该这样啊！

比如OG12 124题中，明明写了and连接的第二个主句如果和前面主句主语一致，应该省略，否则不平行，而but和and的用法应该是一样的，所以此题应该省略she的！
