选项A, 同意白勇老师的说法，result 的逻辑主语是later generations, 不合理。
A B E 项都有限定歧义的问题。比如是ancient world 指的是全世界范围内，还是之亚历山大城的古代世界？全世界最大的，还是亚历山大城最大的？
但是如果从就近限定的角度讲，即使句子蹩脚，但是通过分析限定成分，还是可以理清的。

但是 A B E选项的问题可能更多出在改变原文意思上面。

通过理解题意，可以揣测出，作者意图是说，亚历山大图书馆，作为古代世界最大的图书馆，其被毁造成了很严重的后果。
从ABE三个选项中，只能知道，所谓的那个最大的图书馆被摧毁了，但是因为限定词的问题，我们不能清楚知道这指的是亚历山大图书馆，还是亚历山大的一个最大的图书馆。亚历山大城可能还有很多其他的图书馆，依然可以保存很多资料。所以ABE项中的分句首先违背了作者意图，从而显得和主句的因果逻辑关系比较弱。

而CD两项明确的表达了，那个’亚历山大图书馆‘的唯一性，同时确认了是古代世界最大的。
从而明确了亚历山大图书馆在历史上的地位。

当然可以反驳说在世界各地还有很多其他的图书馆，不比它大，但是还能保留图书。
从句义来看，亚历山大图书馆到底是是古代世界最大还是在亚历山大城最大，其重要性显然不能同日而语。
作者的意图是确立亚历山大成图书馆的地位和影响。因为其最大，所以其破坏造成了严重的后果。

另外C项中的because of the result of ...看上去很别扭，
我觉得也可以从逻辑上提供一个依据。
因为图书资料的逸散本身就是图书馆被毁的结果之一，而又加上了because of, 意味着“因为图书馆被毁产生的众多结果，所以..."。 把结果包含在了原因之中。所以排除D


这是个人的一点揣测，多批评呵

多谢讲解。 也就是说排开句子结构的错误，从逻辑的强弱来判别句子正确么？
但如果果“古代亚历山大最大的图书馆“，句子不应该是“the largest library at Alexandria of the ancient world”
我主要困惑的是为什么A选项里，at Alexandria跳过the ancient world去修饰largest library


小生语法底子薄，还请大家耐心指点下。

一直有个疑问，D选项 as a result of the destruction of the library at Alexandria, the largest of the ancient world,
同位语the largest of the ancient world，难道不会有修饰歧义吗？我觉得也有可能修饰world，也有可能修饰destruction，所以我把这个选项排除了...哪位nn能解答下啊。
