此题答案没什么问题，关键是句子现象的分析

这题的句子结构是怎样的？

目前有两种说法1 with...是作为一种伴随状态修饰were built...的，of up to...是插入语，解释前面的structures,而connected也是修饰structure的

2 with...和 of up to...都是修饰scale的，而后面的connected是修饰room的（of up to 600 rooms each（ room），connected...)由于这句话太长后置了作定语的

个人倾向于选择第一种解释，这里的each后面加了，如果是直接修饰room,正确表达应该和 of up to 600 rooms ，each connected （注意标点的位置），而这里的each我认为应该是修饰前面的structure的，这题之所以比较难，是因为structure后面紧跟了两个修饰成分，一个是of形成的插入语，一个是分词修饰，这一般比较少见，(modifier连在一起的情况），但是由于of up...是插入语，所以两个modifier之间不加任何连词

欢迎大家讨论，特别是意见不同者，这应该算是prep里的一道难题了

做语法题我们不妨先找到各个选项的硬伤 A were多余 C had been时态错 D and with each改变意思 E each had been 时态和each都用错很容易得到B正确

然后来说B的结构问题句子主干settlements were built on a scale. 这里值得一提的是我以前曾经把每个SC的主干都抽出来发现核心都是很单一意思集中表达一个点其他部分都是修饰解释说明伴随等等这里也是一样的 with结构是做限定修饰成分修饰scale的什么样的scale呢告诉你blablabla 后面的connected是修饰structures的过去分词做后置定语中间的of up to 600 rooms each也是修饰structures的夹在中间是为了不引起歧义而清楚的修饰structures 平时我们说的是后应该是这样的 settlements were built on a scale with 75 structures, each of up to 600 rooms. each部分做独立主格.但是无奈后面还有connected 做后置定语我们就只能把each部分放中间了不然的话放在句末 ....roads, each of up to 600 rooms还以为each是说road呢
