For one acadeic year all the students ar a high school were observed. The aim was to test the hypothesis that studying more increased a student's chances of earning a higher grade. It turn out that the students who spent the most time studying did not earn grads as high as did many studnts who stuied less. Notheless, the researches conclued that the resuls of the observation supported the initial hypothesiss.

Whic one fo the following, if true, most helps to expalin why the researchers drew the conclusion descreibed above?

A The students who spent the most studying earned higher grads then did some students who studies for less time than the aveage.

C. In each courses, the more a student studied, the better his or her grade was in that course.
为什么A不对呢?我怎么觉得C只是重述了一遍结论? explain题的原则是什么?是不是当加强题来做? A怎么不能加强呢?

A里有个“some”。假如多学习的学生只比1个少学习的学生成绩高，却比其余所有少学习学生的成绩低，那还怎么加强呀：）

我个人对C的理解是：题干中并没说学习时间长的学生是在哪门课上下功夫的，极端的例子比如他只钻数学课，结果就数学成绩很好，其它课却全挂了。于是总成绩就不如别人好了；或者如果比较的是语文课单科成绩，他也比不过别人呀。关键是题干里没有说清楚他下功夫的科目和最后比较的科目是不是一致。C就把这个标准说明了，是针对某一特定course学习，比较的grade指的也是同一个course，所以就对啦~~

作者的hypothesis是学生自己和自己比，自己学多了，当然自己的成绩提高了。再去看后来的研究结果，是说一个学生和别的学生去比，这和实验要研究的不是一回事啦。

本题为解释矛盾，在于前提到结论的中间过程。

C答案并非简单重复，“In each courses”，给出了限定。
