想请问一下过去分词和that的修饰问题。谢谢

Many prehistorians believe that farming may have emerged independently in several different areas of the world when small communities, driven by increasing population and a decline in available food resources, began to plant seeds in the ground in an effort to guarantee their survival.

我想确认一下，driven修饰什么？是不是small communities，逗号+过去分词，可不可以跳跃从句（when）去修饰farming。因为总感觉这个small communities可以被driven by increasing poplutation, 但是 decline in food resources，好像不是那么通。

The need to oversee the entire process brought about the emergence of an elite that was eventually transformed into a government.

我想问一下这句话的主谓语是不是 brought ，that 是不是不能跳跃谓语去修饰 need？

如果是gmat语法的话，应该是driven by an increase in population and a decline in available food resources吧

driven by an increase and a decline 。。。多工整啊..逻辑上也完全通啊
driven by人口增长和食物减少

这个怎么可以这么跳的，那英语语法就没法整了..修饰成分尽可能的离被修饰成分近些...这里肯定修饰的是small communities
把前面都删除掉，这样看的清楚些

这句话你要说that跳跃修饰emergence 还有点可能...超级跳跃去修饰need太..
根据句意逻辑判断that一定是修饰elite。。。逻辑上只有elite才可能被transformed into a government

that 一般修饰紧接的名词，但有可能跳过介子短语修饰前面的名字...比如这里的of an elite
后面的that完全可以去修饰emergence ..但that引导的句子必须在逻辑上符合..
