正确答案是C，可是我不明白B和D错在哪里？请大家给些建议，感谢

B不符合平行的要求，as adj as, if not more than,...这样才是完整的，B的比较使as gifted 和than 相连，是不正确的。

D的错误是his 成为if not more than 的逻辑主语，无论从意思到语法都是错误的。

这题是补充题248;

(B)的原因楼上已经讲得很清楚了, 在这我不多言.

我想(D)错的原因主要在于being用做名词型式, 与(E)一样. 至于状语省略结构, 其实跟自由mm想的一样, 因为主句he is 与状语从句的主谓一样, 所以省略

这题的结构其实总的来说并不是很清晰, 两个状语比较性质从句(一个同级比较, 另一个不同级)共用比较对象, 再连接主句.

这题其实是老题(比XDF分册的还老), OG里面比较没有这样的不清晰的题

Despite his being gifted 我想再深问一下关于BEING的GMAT的忌讳问题？因为DESPITE是介词，我也同意大家说的改变句子含义语气的问题，大家其他的讲解自由仔细研究明白了，受宜非浅！！！长了重要知识点的知识。现在想弄清BEING的忌讳问题，谢谢大家！！！

我看过一个原则，说“介词+doing ”结构的两词之间不可以出现物主代词his,its等。所以，我从B选项后面的“with his poetry remaining unpublished”，以及D项的“Despite his being gifted”两个“his”把两选项给毙了。不知对否？

至于自由MM说的being的用法，我也不明白。。。继续问楼下的NN~~~

Despite his being gifted

despite是介词, 理当接名词, 然而这边硬把原文中表示状态的句子 he is gifted改成动名词型式来当作名词, OG的讲法叫做awkward

拿这题来说, 用although和despite都有表让步的说法, 但在这边就although会比较好

如果逻辑的意思差不多的情况下, 要选用比较idiomatic和concise的选项

注意although, though和 in spite of, despite的差异性, 虽然他们的意思一样
