向前辈们请教一道题

Three out of every four automobile owners in the United States also own a bicycle.这句话中用a bicycle与前面的owners相配吗？没犯单复数上的错误吗？

（这句话出自刘振民的《GMAT语法改错精讲》第25页上的练习第一题，是题目原句也是最终答案）其他4个选项都有明显问题，但我对这个选项也有以上疑虑，还请前辈们赐教。

a bicycle可以表示泛指呀。

比如a tiger is .....
