88. The Emperor Augustus, it appears, commissioned an idealized sculpture portrait, the features of which are so unrealistic as to constitute what one scholar calls an "artificial face."

(A)              so unrealistic as to constitute

(B)              so unrealistic they constituted

(C)             so unrealistic that they have constituted

(D)             unrealistic enough so that they constitute

(E)              unrealistic enough so as to constitute

这样的话The Emperor Augustus与commissioned an idealized sculpture portrait又是什么关系呢?

The Emperor Augustus(这个是主句主语), it appears(插入语), commissioned(主句谓语) an idealized sculpture portrait(主句宾语), the features of which are so unrealistic as to constitute what one scholar calls an "artificial face."

The Emperor Augustus(S) commissioned (V) an idealized sculpture portrait(O)

commission: to formally ask someone to write an official report, produce a work of art for you etc

The Emperor Augustus, it appears, commissioned an idealized sculpture portrait, the features of which are so unrealistic as to constitute what one scholar calls an "artificial face."
