我本以為這題一定對.沒想到還是做錯.不明白為何(c)會比(e)好.那(d)(e)錯在那?

even if 我认为接从句，接动名词remaining显然不好。
根据句意理解用even if 比用although 好。
请讨论。

这里必须补充出they are，使得they明确地指代consumers
d中用may be不好，这里没有情态动词的语气。

查了ＬＯＮＧＭＡＮ，
even if 是＂即使＂的意思，（？？？有假设的含义在里面，不知是否正确）
even if 约等于lthough....may....
eg. even if you don't like this wine, just try it! = though you may not like this wine, just try it!
这样我们是否可以推测 even if they are free out charge = although they may be free of charge ，那么Ｃ，Ｄ的意思实际是一样，只是因为Ｃ简洁？

有两点供参考：

even if 要表达一种假设，even though（although)是事实

may be是口头语，一般不用

umm...can't type chinese now...
the subject of "being" in "despite being..." has to be the subject of the main clause.
the implicit subject of "being" in B is "the price of automobile insurance"; hence, B is illogical.
