When choose what to purchase,a school consider the needs of the entire student.It should also comtemplate the future needs of the students.There is no question that books are a valuable resource.However,I think that computers are a better purchase for at least three major reasons.

Firstly,computers can access more current,real-life materials and information than any group of books.unlike a book that is finite in content,a computer can connect to the Internet and abtain mountains of information with ligt speed.In addition,a book can become outdate afer a year,but a computer can retrieve up-to-the-minute information on any subject.

secondly,computer can server a broader section of  the students'life.Not every book can be used continuously.Moreover,some books might be browsed only when their research need.Conversely,computer can be used by any students to do their research,to prepare homework assignment,to view instructive programs,to play games,etc.

Thirdly,computers are the indispensable instruments of the future.Almost every technological advance is somehow tie to the computer.Having computers in school will help to open our world up,promoting computer skill.For instance,during the SARS crisis,students had to stay at home for over a month and attend classes by computer.If it were not for computer the students would not have been able to continue their lessons.
